Students in Bangalore have much to look forward to. Bangalore is a cosmopolitan city with the IT boom leading to a wonderful mix of people of all ages from different parts of the country. This makes it a fun city to live as a student! Food of all cuisines - North India, South Indian, Italian and Chinese - is easily available and restaurants to fit every pocket are available. It’s a veritable mecca for foodies and those wishing to try different palates or even settle for home style food.

Local transport to get around the city includes buses and autos. The metro will soon make it even faster to get from here to there. Getting to Bangalore is also easy – it has an airport and is well connected by rail also.

Bangalore has been blessed by wonderful weather through the year. The moderate weather ranges from a low of 15C in winter to a high of 31C in summer. It rains August through October, getting rain from both the southwest and northeast monsoons.

Bangalore, also known as the Garden City, is famous for its parks. Lalbagh and Cubbon Park are among the oldest. Lalbagh holds many flower shows and the one on Republic Day is especially popular. Cubbon Park is popular with those going for a walk early in the morning. These days, it also provides the much needed respite from the rising pollution levels in the city.

Students of all ages love Bangalore. Starting from Montessori and Kindergarten levels all the way up to Universities facilitating doctoral level education, there is something for everyone. Some of the popular colleges include Indian Institute of Science, CMR group of educational institutions, National Law School of India University (NLSIU), National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) and Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B).

Welcome to student life in Bangalore!
